| Below chronicles the beginning of Silver in her current world. | ||

Leah Briel
was in a land at war. Forces of good
and evil fought and even within those two classes there were many sub-factions
and races that fought among themselves.
The wars and in-fighting caused many factions and races to band together,
and others to hide in reclusion. The
banding together resulted in various cross-breeding between races and factions.
Thus, Leah was half Neko and half Human, and she was married to a full
human male, who was far away in battle.
It was the
time of spring harvest when Leah’s village was attacked by magic-wielding demons
who are a closed clan, sticking mainly to themselves and related to the evils of
an old world. One of their battle
commanders, a strong leader of his clan, saw Leah running to hide in the forest.
He flexed his mighty wings and took to the air in pursuit.
Leah’s running speed, even as part Neko, was no match for his speed of
flight and he quickly overtook her.
He held her and was amazed at the beauty of this Neko – human crossbreed.
But his hatred of all things human and Neko took hold and he forced her
to the ground and raped her repeatedly.
He called her a whore and an abomination to both the human and Neko race.
He did vile and disgusting things to her taking out his frustrations of
battle upon Leah’s body.
When he
finished his sport with her, he took her in his arms and flew high into the air
and then dropped her, allowing her to fall to the ground.
He grinned watching her flaying and falling form, and then he flew off to
rejoin the battle thinking her dead from her impact with the ground.
He didn’t know the strength and resolve of the Briel family, and he
didn’t know the powers of a Neko.
Leah lay
still for a long moment allowing her body to rest.
Once it was safe and the attackers gone, she got up and went back to her
village and saw the destruction and death.
There were few survivors and many of the survivors were injured.
Those who were able started working to rebuild their village and care for
the ill. The attacks were a part of
life for them.
Weeks went by
and Leah noticed changes in her body.
It wasn’t long before she knew she was pregnant.
The demon had planted his seed within her, and somehow it managed to take
hold. At first Leah wanted nothing
to do with the abomination growing inside her. But
eventually her maternal nature took over and a bond formed between her and her
unborn child.
Months later,
just past midnight, hidden in the deep forest under a full moon, Leah gave
birth. A ray of moonlight steaming
through the dense trees of the forest struck the newborn’s thin golden hair
turning it almost platinum and from that time on, the baby was known as Silver.
Leah was weak
from the wars and famines in the land and died giving birth to Silver.
Truth be known, Leah would have died months ago, but she had a strong
will and was determined to bring her baby into the world.
Because giving birth to crossbreeds was forbidden, some of the the
villagers hid Leah in the forest and were there to help with the birth, but
there was nothing they could do to save the mother’s life.
A family in
the village, a remnant of a panther clan, adopted Silver and helped her grow
strong as a fighter. They taught her the disciplines of the world.
Silver became very skilled in bow, sword, dagger, staff, and even hand to
hand combat.
But as Silver
grew, she knew she was not like others, and the others could see differences in
her as well. Silver was liked by
all. She seemed to have a natural
instinct about things and she fit in wherever she went.
Silver was strong and powerful, besting many women and some men her size
or larger in the village contests.
When she got angry, her skin color would change and her body would start to
change as well in strange ways. Silver also had very peculiar dreams and
visions with sometimes the same people in the dream but different settings.
Silver
decided to take a very long journey to the Sayers far into the northern
mountains. The Sayers were a small
clan of very powerful wizards, secluded and neutral in all the wars.
People said the Sayers could see into the deepest past and the distant
future. They had ways of knowing
things. But to find the Sayers was a long and dangerous journey and those
who went on this journey, never returned.
Silver said
goodbye to her adoptive family and villagers and at the young age of 16 started
off on her journey. The perils of her
journey are too numerous for this writing, but suffice it to say she had many
struggles and challenges along the way.
Two weeks and
three days into her journey she neared the top of a snow-covered mountain peak
and there at the summit, saw her goal.
She approached with caution, her sharp eyes and keen ears always alert.
Then she heard a voice within structure saying, “Come Silver, come in out
of the cold. We have been expecting
you.”
She entered
and spent the next week talking to the Sayers.
She learned that her Neko and Human blood mixed with the demon blood from
the demon who raped her mother was a rare and unique combination, and a
dangerous one. The Sayers taught her how to control her urges and she
learned she could shape shift between human, Neko and demon.
But she also learned that in her world, people would fear her and she
would be hunted. The Sayers
suggested she leave until she was older.
Then she could return and see what her future held in this land.
Silver
thought about their words. She
didn’t want to leave all that she knew, but she also believed the Sayers were
not telling her everything and that it was probably for her own good that she
left and did as they asked. Leaving
might be the only way to uncover what the Sayers were keeping from her.
Eventually she agreed.
The Sayers
gathered together and performed a ritual opening a portal; Silver stepped
through. She found herself in a
world not too different from her own with a strange mix of races and classes.
She quickly set out to explore and to learn what she could of this new
world. The Sayers had told her she
would have a purpose here and she was needed here, but they could not tell her
what that purpose was. They said she
would meet people from her dreams and visions and she would feel it within her
heart when she met these key people.
One day while
exploring, Silver saw a woman, a tall and powerful woman, and Silver felt an
urge to get to know her. This woman
looked very close to one of the women in Silver’s visions of her youth.
Silver approached and spoke.
Silver
learned this woman’s name was Christina and she was High Cult Inquisitor for
Temptress Falls, a land much like Silver’s own.
A bond quickly formed between Silver and Christina.
Christina became Silver’s mentor and guide.
They form a powerful team as they face this new land.
On yet
another day, Silver met a young girl having a bit of difficult, being bound in a
strange way. Silver watched closely
as did the others standing about.
Soon the girl was freed and Silver went on her way, but something felt different
about this girl and Silver could not get the image out of her mind.
Silver had
traveled only a short distance when she received a message from this very girl.
It was a sign! Silver rushed
back to the girl and they talked for a short bit.
Silver learned the girl’s name was Spring.
Spring and Silver became very close quickly and soon Silver took Spring
under her care and now watches over her, protects her, and loves her.
It’s with
these connections that Silver faces this new and interesting world with its
challenges, dangers, and mysteries.
